6 Amazing stop-motion videos

Stop-motion videos are hardly new, it’s thanks to stop-motion that we got the likes of Wallace & Gromit and those amazing nature videos of growing plants. But even though they’ve been around a while it seems they’re as popular as ever.

One reason for the current popularity could be due to the fact the technology required is now so readily available, you can pick up a digital camera for next to nothing these days, and the software required is affordable or even free, and then when you done the hard bit you simply upload it to youtube (or perhaps vimeo) for the world to see.

Of course it not all about affordability, it might be that stop-motion videos let you do the impossible such as make a plasticine man walk about or watch a tree grow in 30 seconds, but then this is all pretty tame compared to the special effects coming out of Hollywood these days. Perhaps the key to the popularity of stop-motion video is the appreciation that people have for the effort that goes into making them, often each individual frame will have been painstakingly prepared and captured.

There are some truly great stop-motion videos out there, here are 6 of them.
