There’s a new search engine called OneRiot that claims to help you find the pulse of the web.
They say:
“Like other search engines, we keep a running record of the contents of the Internet. However, unlike other search engines, we prioritize that information based on its current popularity with our community. This makes OneRiot’s search results relevant, fresh, friendly, and pulsing with the real-time energy of the web.”
Looks like a nice idea, but surely the quality of the results will very much depend on the community the data is coming from. Maybe this idea could be adopted by social networking sites, and users can select the community either from their friend list or from people that share their interests.
